This active group of ladies is continually serving their Savior here and abroad through community outreach and support of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society (LWMS). Some of their projects this past year were as follows: A presentation on Organics, Aromatherapy and Healthy Living for the community. They attended LWMS rallies and supported mission work. They wrote letters and sent cards to missionaries in Lafayette, IN and the Central Africa Medical Mission. A presentation was offered on “The 12 Oils of Ancient Scripture.” A Christmas party was hosted for all women and girls of Peace. Financial gifts were given to called workers and musicians of Peace, as well as the LWMS missions they support. They also assembled fruit baskets and purchased poinsettias for shut-ins at Peace. They coordinated and served Lenten suppers. They baked and helped with the bake sale and rummage sale. They donated proceeds to clean carpets in the preschool and purchase banquet tables. They hosted a detective from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Department who spoke about identity theft. They sent 12 pillowcase dresses to the Central Africa Medical Mission in Malawi. They closed out the year with a dinner and fellowship at The German Restaurant.
The Women of Peace are also continually serving their Savior by cooking for brunches, preparing the altar for worship, staffing and organizing the food pantry, sending cards to members and coordinating our calling and caring group.
